Our home is in Minnetonka, Minnesota, a
suburb of Minneapolis. We also have a cabin on a remote lake in the north woods. We love Minnesota, but the winters can get a bit long. Sometime between January and March we need to head south for a
break.
We've tried the usual snowbird
destinations:
- Mexico (but we don't speak Spanish),
- Southwest U.S.
(we missed being near water),
- California (a
bit intense for Midwesterners).
But Florida offered what we were looking for:
warm
weather, natural beauty and relaxing beaches. And we found that Fort Myers Beach
offered the best of these. During a vacation there In March
2004, we unexpectedly bought Unit #506B at the Estero Beach and Tennis
Club.
Although we are empty nesters (we have three adult
daughters), we still run our real estate, title and mortgage
businesses. With limited vacation time available to us (and mortgage
payments to meet), we decided to share our condo by renting it to
others.
We consider Fort Myers Beach an
excellent area for real estate investment. If you want information about
real estate opportunities there,
please email us.
Our unit was in
excellent condition when we bought it, but before renting it we updated the kitchen
cabinets, counter and sink, and replaced most of the furniture. We also
replaced all the dishes, eating utensils and cookware. All the towels
and linens are new as of 2004.
We received so
many inquiries to rent #506B, that in 2005 we bought another unit, #1005C.
Now you can enjoy
viewing the Gulf of Mexico from either of our condos. They're both on the
beachfront, with a beautiful natural lagoon in front--a favorite spot
for water bird photographers. The lagoon and mangrove bushes give the
property relaxed privacy from the beach, and is one of the reasons we
purchased the property. You can walk around the lagoon to get to the
beach, but wading across is more fun! (Wear sandals if your feet are
tender because of underwater shells.)
We hope you enjoy staying in one of our
condos, and have a great vacation! |
